1. I am a beginner (or I’ just have experience in one martial art) but I’d like to participate in the Advanced Camp. Is that possible?
Yes! MMA Summer Camp is great for beginners and they will be exposed to the beginner’s program while the advanced participants will just do more elements of the same combat system. Imagine a drill containing 6 throws. Advanced participants will do 5-6 and beginners will do 2-3 throws. To explain this even better let’s use a tennis analogy: the beginners will work on backhand, forehand and serve, while the advanced participants will do all that + volley, overhead smash and lob. This will be done in all MMA segments (striking, wrestling and groundfighting).
2. Can I bring my spouse or family member along?
Of course! Since they will not be participating at the camp all they have to pay is the hotel fee.
3. What gear and attire will I need and where can I purchase it?
To find out more about required gear and attire click here.
4. How can I apply and pay for the camp?
The deadline for application and payment is 10th of July and you can find all the necessary information here.
5. Is MMA for women and can women apply for the camp?
Absolutely! But for women to participate in the camp there needs to be at least two of them. Please contact us before payment so we can inform you about the possibility of participation.
Apart from being the most perfect hand-to-hand combat system, MMA is excellent for body conditioning and toning.
6. I have never practiced any sports. Is this camp for me?
MMA is ideal for body conditioning and learning self defense. It can be practiced regardless of the shape you’re in or your experience in other sports.
7. Will there be sparring at the camp and is MMA dangerous to train?
MMA is practiced in a controlled environment and striking sparring is done with 10-20 % which drastically decreases the possibility of injury. Although we take all the precautionary measures (stimulating the friendly atmosphere in training, paying attention to the fatigue levels of the participants, sparring with no more than 20 %..etc) we wouldn’t be honest if we said that injuries are not possible. MMA is a contact sport but considering that the safety of the participants is our NO. 1 priority the possibility of injury is minimal.
Sparring is not obligatory and you will spar only if you want to.
8. What can I expect from the camp?
The beginnerss will learn the basic MMA techniques, while the participants of the Advanced Camp will have the opportunity to experience all MMA elements, the way they are connected as well as technical and tactical elements of combat on all levels. Mental game and breathing techniques will also be covered, as well as the philosophy behind Kaizen’s system. The participants can also expect friendly atmosphere at the camp and the top level of instruction.
9. What is the price of MMA Summer Camp and what is included in the price?
The price of MMA Summer Camp is 267 Euros. It includes full board and 5 nights in Hotel Zvezda in Vrnjačka Banja, 2 training sessions per day and 1 hour of pool access per day.
The transportation is not included in the price and we do not provide that service.
10. Can children participate in the camp?
We are not in the position to offer the camp for children at the moment.
11. What is the age requirement?
The participants must be at least 16 years old.
12. Who are the instructors and why would we train with them?
The MMA Summer Camp instructors are Mark Lajhner and the entire Kaizen MMA Academy’s instructor crew. You can find out more about them here. You can also take a look at the videos of instructors in action here.
13. I’m not from Serbia but I’d like to participate in the camp. Is that possible and what are the payment options for foreign participants?
Of course! Everybody is welcome at the camp and training sessions will be held in English and Serbian. For payment options click here.
